Excellent Performance for the money - 2007 Ford Shelby GT500
By Don Cannon - October 7 - 3:06 amThis has to be the finest performance car I have ever owned! I have been fortunate to own Corvettes, 350Z, Z3, TransAms, Mustang GTs, even a 67 GT390 Mustang and this car is the best of them all. I purchased the car USED with only 2400 actual miles and have not been disappointed. The Shelby had a full Roush exhaust system installed on it before it left the Ford dealership and it has a terrific sound. Far better than the stock system I test drove on other cars. The gas mileage is excellent and as stated on the window. For anyone looking at one of these cars the performance and handling are terrific. It does have the wheel hop under hard acceleration but the TCS work good.For the money buy it!

A TRUE Muscle Car - 2007 Ford Shelby GT500
By True Factory Muscle - August 28 - 1:33 pmFirst for the naysayers I put on just a few miles then went straight to the chassis dyno. How does 460+hp & 445lb ft of tq @ rear wheels sound? Thats PURE stock, not a single change from stock. Same dyno a very healthy 426 Hemi made 310hp @ wheels; thats 150+ rwhp over a HEMI! Nothing short of incredible overall. I would take this car over 2 Z06s. Fit & finish is SUPERB! Paint is the nicest I have ever seen on an American car & I am a body man/painter. Not a single complaint. Minor mods put these cars in the 10s in 1/4 mile. Braking & handling are also nothing short of incredible. 60-0 110ft. A very nice chassis with too many changes over standard Mustang GT to mention.

Ive waited 40 years for this... - 2007 Ford Shelby GT500
By Mitchell Bateman - July 30 - 1:10 pmI am 53 years old and owned older Mustang muscle cars in the 60s and 70s but nothing like this car. When the TCS system is disengaged, the raw horsepower is frightening. You better be ready for whats about to happen when you step on it. Its hard to drive it and not put your foot in it every time you stop and take off again. Ive never ridden on the space shuttle but I cant imagine the rush being any greater!

First Month - 2007 Ford Shelby GT500

Have had no problems so far, gas mileage has been in the high teens - but who cares! A well designed car - good job Ford, another winner in a great Mustang heritage.

New to Ford - 2010 Ford Shelby GT500
By Richard - March 27 - 10:00 amI am a pro-Ford, pro-Dodge, pro-Chevy guy and really enjoy seeing all three ramp up their muscle car lines. In other words, I have no bias for or against any of the three. This is the first Ford product (other than my 28 model A) and it has been a blast so far. Excellent power, the stability control has saved my @$$ and my kids cant wait until I die so they get to drive it! I have no plans to ever get rid of this one. I highly recommend it to people looking for a long term addition to his/her garage and to those who enjoy weekends with nice weather or taking a car to the track.

By Latch - February 21 - 5:40 amI love this years Shelby GT 500 it is fun to drive and an absoulte head turner. I look forward to getting behind the wheel of this car. Incredible power and handling with a forgiving clutch makes it a dream for even a novice driver.

By jill green - February 4 - 4:10 pmI love this car. I owned 4 others over the years. This is one great car. I have to be careful because you dont realize your doing 80 or better while tooling along. We took a trip to Vegas in her and she cruised along like a dream. I dont know to say but this little red is a keeper.

Attn Getter - 2011 Ford Shelby GT500
By Brian - December 24 - 2:00 amI am amazed at the way this car handles and the gobs of power. Driving home from dealership I couldnt wait for the 50 miles to pass til the supercharger kicked in. Unreal. I agree with other reviews...this car gets more stares, waves, and nods of admiration then any car Ive had. Stock exhaust sounds amazing and the supercharger whine is addictive. When I drive it I am always looking for the long way home. Convertible seems solid as I have not experienced any flexing over bumps. Since all 2011 GT500s have been built it is an exclusive club youd enter by owning one. Plus, it feels so nice to embarrass others whove paid over double to get the same performance from Germany.

Totally Awesome - 2008 Ford Shelby GT500
By Gary - September 26 - 8:10 amI grew up in the 60s and 70s, road in and drove the fastest cars of the day-Shelby GT 500s, Charger 440 6- packs, SS 396 Chevelles etc. None of them hold a candle to the 08 Shelby. It is just plain scary fast. But, if you want a nice Sunday drive and keep it at 60 mph it will run all day at 25 mpg. The live rear axle is not the handling problem you may have heard about, even on bumpy entrance ramps and curves. Yes, you feel the bumps but the car stays on track. The shifter takes time to break in so be patient, the brakes stop the car as fast as the engine can accellerate it. My car is Vista Blue and it turns heads. I cant thank Ford enough for building this car at an affordable price.

Learn to drive it kick butt on track, - 2014 Ford Shelby GT500

The power is there, the basic design is there, very few low cost upgrades such as Watts link, rear torque arm, lower control arms and Ford racing 5300L lowering springs (track pack suspension/821A package shocks) to keep Bilstein shocks working properly and most of what people will bring to the track will not hang with this set up. Plus!!!!! the5,8 Trinity engine entire lower end is made in Germany. Thats right German precision. Search the trinity engine and read what you bought. A new engine alone costs $32,000. Thats what we pay for. And the Shelby name. I like mine. I think the GT 350R will have trouble beating mine.
